A dash of fright, a pinch of fun, and a stir of the cauldron made for a Spooktacular day on Clark Street in Lincoln Park! On Saturday, October 24, 2015 Lincoln Park was abuzz with trick-or-treaters, magicians, stilt walkers, scarecrows, minions, and much more! After a frighteningly wet morning, the clouds parted and Clark Street lit up with the laughs and squeals of children (and adults) dressed as Darth Vader, jockeys, SWAT team agents, Pikachu, cows, zombies, and so much more. The Scarecrows on Parade helped to transform the corridor into a spooky and fun setting for trick-or-treaters, furry companions, and family fun-seekers!
We hope you made it out to this fantastic day of neighborhood fun. Be sure to check out the photos below, including some amazing and innovative costumes! Please also take a few minutes to share your feedback and opinions on how the day went! Not only will it help make next year’s Spooktacular event even better, but it will give us a better idea of what other programming you would like to see on Clark Street. Our survey will take you less than 5 minutes to complete!
There were a variety of costumes spotted on Clark Street this year. Everything from minions, to farm animals, to Star Wars characters, and even a traffic light (with a red light camera)! The competition for our friendly costume contest was intense and the judges had their work cut out for them. With dozens of participants and only 6 categories of winners, some tough decisions had to be made, not to mention that the originality, once again, far surpassed everyone’s expectations. We’re excited to announce Spooktacular’s 2015 Costume Winners!
