NEW! Big Bob & Fritzy’s
When it opens this spring on Armitage near Halsted, this Lincoln Park fast food emporium offering up burgers, hot dogs, shakes and more is expected to be a popular neighborhood destination.
Butcher & the Burger
A “Dash of Old-Fashion Butcher Shop With a Pinch of Culinary Artistry” is how this bustling Armitage Avenue eatery that returns to Burger Fest for its sixth year describes itself. From breakfast and sandwiches to pork, shrimp and bison burgers, B&B takes pride in their eclectic menu. B & B mixes both gourmet and traditional burger fare at this acclaimed patty emporium.
D.S. Tequila Company
This North Halsted Street offers burgers, tacos and premium tequila concoctions. Their burgers are 100% prime beef. Other offerings are the Portobello Veggie, Burgundy, Sumac Attack, Barnyard and Buffalo Blue Cheese patties.
Hax (formerly Hackney’s Printer’s Row) www.hackneys.net
Hax is the new name of Hackney’s in Printer’s Row. Cajun turkey, a “BBQ Mac & Cheeseburger,” and an onion and provolone cheese-topped burger on a pretzel bun are among their patty offerings.
Mrs. Murphy & Sons www.irishbistro.com
This Lincoln Avenue eatery in the North Center was the brainchild of the late Jim Murphy, owner of the legendary Wrigleyville bar Murphy’s Bleachers. This family-owned restaurant brings an Irish, British and Scottish cuisine (including burgers!) to an authentic Dublin bistro setting.
This South Loop emporium’s patty offerings (all made from Angus beef and cooked on an open-flame, wood-fired grill) are: BBQ Bacon, Texas Jalapeno, Chorizo and Mushroom Swiss burgers. Add to that their tasty hand-cut fries.
NEW! Reclaimed Bar & Restaurant
Located just north of Roscoe Village. A tasty Lamb Burger (with cucumber relish and pickled onions) is among their eclectic offerings of sandwiches and imaginative sides.
This food emporium on North Western Avenue has 20-plus ‘gourmet’ burgers on the menu. VPT has also earned buzz for its offerings of deep fried burgers that have garnered attention from both local and national food media.
