I love, love, love American Girl dolls. Combining education with fun is always a winner and the historical character dolls are so adorable! McKenna, Girl of the Year 2012, the latest addition attends 4th grade, competes as a gymnast and struggles with reading.

To promote reading the American Girl Place at Water Tower presents a FREE reading journal craft class for girls ages 8 and up. Each girl will go home with her very own reading journal like the one McKenna uses to log her accomplishments.

Thank you to Evelyn Kanter of our sister site NYC on The Cheap for the lead.
