The Chicago Green Festival will be held May 18 and 19 at Navy Pier. It will feature speakers, demonstrations, and vendors talking about a huge range of environmental and community issues. Admission isn’t too bad, starting at $10 for a day pass, but you can get in for free – and get a t-shirt – by volunteering to help. It’s a great way to meet people, save money, and do some good for the world at large.
If there is anything better than a free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cone, I don’t know about it. Tuesday, April 9 is free cone day, and participating Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops are giving away their goodies.
In the Chicago area, you can find Ben & Jerry’s stores at Navy Pier, Oak Park, Glenview, and Palatine. By the way, the Midway Airport store is not participating.
This 75-minute play combines modern music with traditional costumes.
The Chicago Shakespeare Theater abridged production of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew is a good introduction to Shakespeare for kids and impatient adults. The cast even comes out after the performance to answer audience questions.
