When: Tuesday July 4, 2017 11AM-4PM
Where: 54th and Lake Park (Hyde Park Bank), goes south on Lake Park, east on 55th, north on S. Hyde Park Blvd. and west on 53rd into Nichols Park.
This old fashioned neighborhood parade includes decorated floats, marching bands, cheerleaders, horses, decorated bikes and ends with a picnic at Nichols Park 1355 E. 53rd Street. Some food will be for sale but it’s recommended that you pack your own food and beverages.
Anyone can march
If you’ve ever wanted to march in a parade here’s your chance. Register here. The parade staging area is at 54th and Old Lake Park Avenue in the Hyde Park Bank parking lot. Bike decorating begins at 10 a.m. Assembly is at 10:30 a.m. and step off is at 11 a.m. The parade will head south on Lake Park Avenue, east on 55th Street, north on Hyde Park Boulevard and then west on 53rd Street, ending at Nichols Park, where the fun continues into the afternoon.
