The American Writers Museum will launch the first-ever American Writers Festival on Sunday, May 15, 2022. The free, one-day event will feature discussion panels, author signings with more than 70 contemporary authors and storytime and performances for kids.
From 9 am until 6 pm, visitors can dig into a range of genres including science fiction, satire, poetry, history and biographies. The fest will also host a live taping of the American Writers Museum podcast, “Dead Writer Drama” and a virtual discussion between noted authors Maxine Hong Kingston and Viet Thanh Nguyen.
Festival events will be held at the Chicago Cultural Center and the American Writers Museum. The American Writers Museum will offer free admission on May 15 and 16 in honor of its fifth anniversary.
