The excellent American Writer’s Museum covers the history of writers in America and has interesting and interactive exhibits throughout. There is also a children’s room.

Monday closed although open certain holiday Mondays. Tuesday-Wednesday 10 am – 5 pm; Thursday 10am – 6 pm; Friday-Sunday 10 am – 5 pm.
No free days
The American Writers Museum opened last year to much fanfare. Unfortunately they do not offer any free days. Regular admission: Adults $12, Seniors (ages 65+) $8, Students (w/ valid ID) $8, and Children (ages 12 & under) Free.

You can get 20% off admission if you use promo code AWMWelcome20. If that doesn’t work you can get $2 off using code WHERE18. You can purchase tickets online. Also google for a Groupon. I’ve seen them for $8 plus fee.
Current Art Shay exhibit
They have an excellent, although limited, exhibit of Art Shay photography going on right now and probably through the end of summer. Art Shay was a a reporter and a Bureau Chief for Life Magazine. Read more about the exhibit here.
