The signature festival of the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture, the Barrio Arts Fest, returns to Humboldt Park on July 12-13,2025. Immerse yourself in the richness of Puerto Rican culture during this highly anticipated free festival on the grounds of the museum.

Dance to the rhythms of plena and bomba music, listen to folk stories, eat traditional dishes like pernil asado (grilled pork) and tostones (fried green plantains) and browse arts and crafts at this family-friendly event.
Activities include dance, live music, dominoes, art activations and workshops and gallery exhibits. The first 200 visitors will receive a free tote to carry all the artisan goods you’re sure to pick up.
The 25th annual festival runs from 11 am-7 pm on Saturday, July 12 and 11 am- 6 pm on Sunday, July 13. The galleries of the museum will be open during the festival so don’t forget to check out the new exhibits. Parking is limited so CTA and rideshares are encouraged.
