Sit around the bonfire and toss the worries you’ve written down into the flames to kick off this free, family-friendly tradition. Valborg ushers in the new spring season with song, dance and community gathering.
The event will feature traditional Swedish songs from the Chicago Swedish Mixed Choir, fire dancing, customized poetry on the spot by Everyone’s Type Poetry and tarot readings by The Storm’s Eye. Don’t miss tasting the customary Valborg soup from The Dinner Belle.

Eco-friendly and sustainable resources and organizations will participate in honor of Earth Month and a variety of Andersonville businesses will supply food and artisan goods for sale, including ceramic planters, candle holders and incense fountains from Aim & Ignite, seed ball creation with Vivant Gardening Services and reused art materials from The Waste Shed.
Valborg runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chicago Waldorf School, 5200 N. Ashland. The event is free and open to all ages, but early arrival is recommended.
