What caught my eye on this website was the Aurora Borealis although there are may other cams from bears, Hawaiian beaches, puppies, birds, penguins and more.
Aurora Borealis – Northern Lights Churchill, Manitoba, Canada
Welcome to nature’s most amazing light show. This cam is located at the Churchill Northern Studies Center in Churchill, Manitoba and located directly underneath the aurora oval–one of the best places on earth to watch the aurora borealis, the spectacular atmospheric phenomenon better known as the Northern Lights. Late winter and early spring are the best times for the aurora, so be sure to stop in during the months of February and March.
When can you see the northern lights? (Per Travel Manitoba)
For reasons that are still relatively unknown, the northern lights tend to be stronger and more visible in the cold months – particularly February and March. That’s not to say you can’t or won’t see the lights in other months. To see the northern lights, the following criteria must be met:
1. Increase in activity and solar storms on the sun
2. Clear skies
3. Location in Auroral Oval, or a high KP index
4. Absence of the moon and other light sources
3 day forecast
Here are the predicted Kp numbers for the next 3 days. They can change at any time due to solar events, so you should check them at least once a day.
Time now in UTC (Universal Time) is: 03:05 04/05/20. COTC note: Subtract 5 hours from UTC time to get CST. A rating of 2-3 means visibility is low.
