The Uptown neighborhood celebrates its 40-year tradition of honoring the Lunar New Year with the Argyle New Year Celebration on February 17, 2024. The festivities include a colorful parade, family fun activities, an art walk and restaurant offerings.
March on down to honor the Year of the Dragon with a parade that kicks off at 1 pm at Argyle and Winthrop. Arrive early to get great views of the floats, dancers and performers. At 10 am, grab the kids for stories and dragon-themed crafts at Bezazian Branch, 1226 W. Ainslie, until 11.
After the parade winds down at 4 pm, check out the local restaurants along Argyle Street for Lunar New Year foods like noodles and Chinese dumplings. Then pick up the Uptown Public Art Map for a self-guided art walk along Argyle.
