Beer, food and cover bands are the hallmarks of the city’s first festival of the summer, Chicago Mayfest. This year’s 28th annual edition continues the tradition from May 16-18, 2025, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

This year’s fest will kick off at Armitage and Sheffield and feature an impressive offering of street food, cocktails and local musicians. The event runs from 4-10 pm on Friday, May 16 and from noon to 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and from noon to 10 pm on Sunday, May 18.
As Chicago’s ultimate summer kickoff event, Mayfest is a lively celebration of the neighborhood’s spirit and talent. Enjoy performances from top local bands, browse the vendors with classic Chicago eats like Italian beef and pizza and browse the new Spring Fine Art Mart highlighting local and national artists.
Two stages will present local musicians so prepare to dance to live rock, pop and R&B tunes. Don’t miss the carnival games that offer chances to win prizes. Admission is free with a suggested cash donation of $10.
