Chicago Pride Parade. Gird your loins ladies and gentleman the annual Chicago Pride Parade is happening and includes a million exuberant souls celebrating pride. Great people watching.
When: Sunday, October 3, 2021 12noon. The parade lasts 3 hours. Events continue on into the evening.
Where: Parade starts at Montrose and Broadway, heads south down Broadway to Halsted, Belmont, Broadway and ends at Diversey and Sheridan. Admission free. (map)
About Pride Parade
The parade is four miles long with people lined up 10 or more deep, crowded onto balconies and jammed into bars and restaurants. Less crowded areas to view the parade are near the beginning of the route along Broadway between Montrose Avenue and Sheridan Road or further along Broadway between Belmont Avenue and Diversey Parkway.
Be prepared for anything as more than 1,000,000 people attend. It’s a wild time of exuberance and celebration. Great people watching.

There will be nine cross-over streets along the parade route: Montrose at Broadway; Irving Park Rd. at Broadway; Grace at Broadway; Addison at Halsted; Cornelia at Halsted; Roscoe at Halsted; Aldine at Halsted; Barry Ave. at Broadway; and Wellington Ave. at Broadway.
Alcohol and Security
Security will be tight again this year. Open container rules will continue to be strictly enforced, with 170 private security workers patrolling the parade and police on every corner. Penalties include, but are not limited to, $1000+ tickets being issued, and you could have to throw out your booze.
