Chicago thrift store review: Village Discount Outlet on Roscoe.
This post was written by my predecessor Annie. Despite the name, Village Discount Outlet is a thrift store, not a manufacturer’s outlet store.
This place is great if you either want to sell your old clothes, or you’re one of those people who only wears “vintage” stuff. Either way, this place has what you’re looking for. Pretty much all they sell is clothes. Men’s, women’s, children’s, baby’s, even (I’m pretty sure, but don’t take my word for it) dog’s. So it’s all there.
There is some other stuff there, but things like electronics aren’t nearly as big as their clothing section. It’s great if you’re looking for cheap electronics from the mid 1990s. When I was there, the only thing I bought was a Walkman. So far, it has been the best $3.50 I’ve ever spent. In fact, I’m listening to it as I write this. I hold the place in the highest regards.
By the way, there’s free parking.
