About the exhibit
If you’re a fan of Saturday Night Live you’ll love this exhibit. It goes from the inception of the program (as a replacement for reruns of the Tonight Show) through today. The concept is you go through the six days it takes each week to put together a show. It’s interesting, informative and fascinating to see what it takes to get the show done each week. This exhibit is very well done.
Blast from the past
There are video displays, sets, costumes, the control room, interviews of cast and writers and tons of memorabilia culminating in a short video show at the end. It’s really fun to see all the clips from past shows with Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, Dana Carvey etc. up though current cast. I don’t really watch the show anymore but this a fantastic blast from the past. I won’t give anymore of it away. You should see it for yourself. Leave yourself about two hours to get through it to enjoy all of it.
There are several restaurants in the area that are part of Spring Rewards including El Hefe (tex mex from an Arizona chain), Moe’s Cantina (chain Mexican), Mercadito (excellent Mexican) and Lyfe Kitchen. Also check out River North Happy Hours and Cheap eats River North.
