The Steppenwolf Theatre offers two ways to attend performances at a 50% discount or more:
Day of Tickets
20 for $20 tickets
Twenty tickets are available for subscription shows for $20 on the day of the performance at 11am (Tue-Sat) and 1pm (Sun), by phone only at 312-335-1650. Limit 2 per person.
Note: 20-for-$20 tickets are very popular and can sell very quickly. To improve your chances, we suggest calling as soon as we open and staying on the line until an associate can help you. Each call will be answered in the order it was received.
Rush Tickets
Half-priced tickets for subscription series performances are available on the day of the performance, one hour prior to curtain. Tickets are only available in person at the box office and are subject to availability. Limit 2 per person.
Preview performances
Preview performances are typically the first 1-2 weeks of the run, that dynamic time when the director and designers may still be making adjustments to the play. As an audience member, previews offer an opportunity to get a first peek at the show on stage, and at a lower ticket price.
