
The New York-based Outer Loop Theater Experience nonprofit theater for social change expands to Chicago with a production of the classic South African play, “Sizwe Banzi is Dead” on November 18-20, 2022.
First performed in 1972, “Sizwe Banzi is Dead” was written by Athol Fugard, John Kani, and Winston Ntshona about a man who must destroy his former self to have access to basic human rights. Filled with humor and tragedy, the play explores the dehumanizing effects of power and systemic oppression.
Performances are at the Raven Theatre at 7:30 pm on November 18 and 19 and at 3 pm on November 20. The suggested donation is $25 but the event is donate what you can afford. Reserve tickets here.
