The 24th annual Englewood Jazz Festival presents an exciting line-up of established and emerging Chicago musicians for three days in the Englewood community on September 14-16, 2023.
Live the Spirit Residency at Hamilton Cultural Center educates and mentors the next generation of jazz musicians. The free festival will open with the residency’s leader Ernest Dawkins’ reprise of “Dawkins Memory in the Center, an Afro Jazz Opera” on September 14 with the Live the Spirit Residency Big Band.
Other performers include saxophonist and festival residence artist Isiahah Collier, pianist Alexis Lombre, vibraphonist Joel Ross, bassist Frank Russell, guitarist Jeff Parker and trumpeter Marques Carroll.
The Englewood Jazz Festival schedule is 6 pm on September 14 and 15 and 11:30- 6 pm on September 16. Limited seating will be provided but the audience is advised to bring their own chairs and blankets.
