Donate $5+ in school supplies Get ticket to Brookfield Zoo
Donate a new school supply to benefit local children in need and receive a free general admission ticket to Brookfield Zoo. (Adults $21.95)
We sell Discount tickets to Brookfield Zoo when they’re available. Free days are limited to January and February. No one wants to walk around in subzero weather so this is a really great deal. Also school supplies are on sale right now so you get more bang for your buck. Here are a few items from the wish list and prices as of Aug 1:
Crayola Colored Pencils, 12-Count, Pack of 1, Assorted Colors $.97 at Staples and .99 Target
Crayola Colored Pencils, 24 Count, Pack of 1, Assorted Colors, School Supplies $3.00 at Staples and $2.99 Target
Crayola Ultra Clean Washable Markers, Broad Line, Classic Colors, 10 Count $3.00 at Staples and $2.79 Target
I wouldn’t order supplies online because they may arrive after they run out of tickets. Once people find out about this they may run out of tickets. In fact if you’re interested I would act quickly. It says one (1) ticket per item donated but they have items that cost less than a dollar on the list. I purchased five $1 items (plus tax) and that worked.

More about SOS Children’s Villages Illinois
SOS Children’s Villages Illinois, founded over 25 years ago, is a 501(c)3 child welfare agency that provides a stable home in a supportive, community environment designed to help children in need grow into caring, productive, and self-reliant adults. The SOS Children’s Villages model differs from traditional foster care in emphasizing the following four components: 1) Children live together with their siblings, 2) Children receive care and support from a full-time, professionally trained Foster Parent, 3) Children grow up in a private, single-family home, 4) Children are supported by the Village, designed as an intentional community of care.
SOS Children’s Villages Illinois celebrates a 100% high school graduation rate, compared to a national average of 50% for children in foster care. In November 2015, Chicago Magazine named SOS Children’s Villages Illinois one of the “Best Charities in Chicago.”
