Farmer’s offering delivery in Chicago
If you’re like me and trying to avoid even trips to the grocery store but don’t want to give up fresh produce, dairy and meat I’ve been searching for ways to get it delivered. Prices are going to be a higher for the convenience and because the products are organic but if you can afford it you’re helping a farmer who has product to sell to earn a living. I haven’t tried any of these yet. When I do I’ll update the post.
Green City Market opened up a weekly deliver service through the Whatsgood app but it sold out instantaneously. They’re trying to increase capacity. They have a list of farmers on their website offering pick up and delivery. I’ve filtered out to just delivery. If you want to see all the farmers go here.

Oberweis Dairy
Oberweis is innundated. I was able to sign up for delivery because someone else in my building gets a delivery. You can try to set up an account online. If that doesn’t work try calling. Hold times are long. Be patient. You can set up a standing order and add things each week. There is no weekly minimum. In addition to dairy products they sell grassfed beef and bacon. Prices are high but their products are excellent. Delivery is $4. You’ll need a cooler.

Spice House isn’t a farm. It’s a spice shop on Wells Street just south of North Ave. in Chicago. You can get any spice imaginable there and now they have a product called Flat Packs. Flat packs are the same amount of spice that comes in their jars but they’re in envelopes and ship for free. The only spice I don’t buy at Spice House is saffron. Trader Joe’s sells it in a tiny quantity (which is generally all you need) for less. To make Ina Garten’s Provencal Vegetable Soup I buy the saffron and the cleaned leeks from TJ’s.

Do you have a similar list for the suburbs?
Carol says
I don’t. There are too many suburbs to cover. You may want to check each farmer I’ve listed. Some may deliver to some suburbs and some offer pick up. You can also google “Farmer’s offering delivery in Your suburb”. I know Oberweis delivers to some suburbs. They;re based in Aurora. Good luck!
