Free Black Garbage carts available in Chicago,
The Chicago Suntimes has reported that the Departments of Street and Sanitation has found funding to provide residents with free replacement black garbage carts. Apparently there has been a shortage for some time.
You can request heavy duty plastic 96-gallon garbage carts with tight fitted lids referred to as super carts. These are are supplied free to single-family residences and apartment buildings of four units or less. This is only open to City of Chicago residents.
Missing or damaged carts are replaced free of charge by the Bureau of Sanitation. Residents can call 311 or submit a request online for a replacement garbage cart.
You can request your cart online via 3-1-1. If you really need one I would act now before all the funding is gone!
