Hear the rousing sounds of acclaimed blues musician Corey Harris and Appalachian multi-instrumentalist James Leva at “Blues Geographies”, a live performance that connects African and Celtic music traditions on April 1, 2023, at the Logan Center.
Discover the intersections of blues, country, Celtic and African music during an acoustic blues concert and jam session with master musicians. Corey Harris is a noted guitarist, vocalist and songwriter who performs contemporary blues music. James Leva is a fiddler, banjo player and vocalist whose music is rooted in Appalachian traditions.
The concert starts at 7:30 pm, followed by a discussion about musical erasure and appropriation in the American recording industry. A pre-performance BBQ will be hosted in the Logan Center Courtyard at 6 pm for $10. The concert is free but rsvp for tickets is recommended.
