The 23rd annual World Music Festival Chicago is a city-wide, multi-venue festival presenting over 34 artists and ensembles from 22 countries around the globe, presented for free over 10 days from September 22– October 1, 2023.
Dance to the rhythms and melodies of musicians from all over the world at a series of free concerts across the city. This year’s line-up includes performers from Morocco. Egypt, Mexico, India, Mali, Mongolia, France and Colombia.
Two special concerts include a celebration of Indian Classical music at the Chicago Cultural Center on September 29-30, 2023 as well as a Global Peace Picnic with a line-up of Latin performers at the Humboldt Park Boathouse on September 30, 2023.
All shows are free and are scheduled in the afternoon and evenings at venues including Old Town School of Folk Music, Empty Bottle and The Promontory. Online reservations are encouraged, view the schedule here.
