About the Zoo grounds
Find out more about the Nature Boardwalk from the designer Studio Gang. The Nature Boardwalk was completed in 2010. It circles the south pond and passes through various educational zones that incorporates the different animals, plants, and habitat found in each.
A pavilion integrated into the boardwalk is an open-air classroom on the site. The People’s Gas Pavilion was inspired by the tortoise shell. Its laminated structure is made of prefabricated, bent-wood and a series of interconnected fiberglass pods that give global curvature to the surface.
