Groove to the rhythms of live jazz at the free monthly Jazz Jam Sessions at the 21c Museum Hotel in the River North neighborhood. The events will be featured on Tuesdays every month during the summer, with the first one kicking off on May 16, 2023.
Jam sessions supply spaces for musicians to gather and hone their skills while the audience enjoys the musical adventure. The 21c Museum Hotel Jazz Jam session will open with a 30-minute set by the Matt Jarosch Quintet, followed by opening up to jazz musicians in the audience to sit in.
Musicians can sign up for the jam session on-site and a drum set, bass, piano and bass amp will be provided. Wine and menu items will be served for purchase during the session. The event runs from 7-10 pm and is free with a $10 suggested donation as a fundraiser for BandWith Chicago, which provides performing arts instruction to underserved communities.
