View an eye-opening array of horror and psychological thrillers at Beyond Chicago, the biggest genre film festival in the U.S., at the iconic Music Box Theatre on April 2-5, 2026.

Watch 30 feature movies from all over the world, including classics and contemporary films, at this inaugural event. Travel to Japan for the exciting 2k restoration of “Silverbutterfly 2: She-cat Gambler”, which follows a female gang leader who avenges her Father’s murder in Tokyo.
Journey to Indonesia for “Ikatan Darah,” where a family fights off a crime syndicate with deadly martial arts and the harsh Alaskan tundra for “The Yeti,” where a rescue team battles a gruesome beast.
Hip Hop legend RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan will introduce the Chinese classic “The Kid with the Golden Arm,” about a Kung Fu master who leads a crime organization focused on stealing 200,000 gold pieces, on April 4 at 11 am.

A collection of 15 movies covering the genre and cult discoveries categories from around the globe will be presented for free during the Beyond Fest in theater two at the Music Box Theatre. Tickets for the big theater screenings are $12. Passes for the festival go on sale at noon at the Music Box box office.
