Each Friday at 5:30PM, before the Grant Park Orchestra takes the stage, the Festival presents performances by students of local music schools and summer music programs. Groups ranging from small chamber ensembles to larger orchestras and bands are able to gain broader visibility by performing for Festival audiences. Grant Park Orchestra Free Concert Schedule
In 2013, the Festival hosted over 100 young students from the Merit School of Music, Chicago High School for the Arts, Chicago Youth Symphony, and two El Sistema programs: YOURS Project at the People’s Music School and the Chicago Metamorphosis Orchestra Project.
