About the Gurgoyle Fountain
Wicker Park’s iconic Gurgoyle Fountain was restored this year with a $67,000 grant from Wicker Park Bucktown Special Service Area #33 (WPB SSA #33), the neighborhood’s business improvement district. The SSA commissioned the Conservation of Sculpture & Objects Studio (CSOS) to complete this project, which included the removal of old paint and corrosion from Gurgoyle Fountain and its four cast iron urns, repainting and resealing to protect against future damage, and reconstruction of the top ornament on the fountain.
