If you’re returning to Chicago from a trip out east, you may have seen the billboards in Northwest Indiana directing you to Bailey’s Discount Center. Chicago on the Cheap correspondent Ally Gercken checked it out.
The drive was definitely worth it if you are looking for furniture. They had so much to choose from at a very reasonable price. All the furniture looked to be in perfect condition, as well.
They had a lot of cabinets and kitchen counters, sinks, anything of that nature. If you are redoing your kitchen or bathroom, definitely worth taking the trip to look at everything they have. They also had showers and bathtubs.
If you are driving far, I wouldn’t go to save a little money on food. The food they had there was in slightly damaged boxes or just expired.
They had just about anything you could imagine there. Toiletries, cleaning supplies, winter wear, decorative items, cards, gift wrapping necessities, tools, kitchen needs, really anything you could think of.
The downsides? It was in the middle of nowhere. I didn’t see any type of restaurant or gas station or anything on the streets we took to get there.
