Gold Coast Art Fair Aug 21-22. One of the oldest art fairs in Chicago, the Gold Coast Art Fair returns to Grant Park.
When: August 21-22, 2021, Sat. and Sun. 10 am-6 pm
Where: Butler Field in Grant Park, E. Monroe St. and S. Lake Shore Dr.
Admission; $10. This event is on Chicago Park District property so everyone has to pay the entrance fee. I called. Use code “GOLD” to receive 20% off. Suggested donation (Chicago residents aren’t required to pay entrance fees to street festivals. More info here). Tickets on sale now
It looks like all the fests and fairs this summer are going to require tickets, even if they’re free, so I’ll be posting those as soon as the information becomes available.
What is it
Approximately 150 of the finest artist from coast to coast and around the world will show, sell and demonstrate their art. Children’s and family activities, live music and food will add to the event. Go for a spin on the Spin Art machine to create a masterpiece of spiraled and splashes of paint.

The Gold Coast Art Fair is heralded as the “Granddaddy of American Art Festivals” and is rated as one of the top 30 shows in the nation by Sunshine Artist magazine.
Why is it in Grant Park
Originally this Gold Coast Art Fair was actually held in the Gold Coast on LaSalle Street around Chicago Avenue but in 2010 it had gotten so large it had to move to larger digs.
