Head to State Street to celebrate Halloween as the “artist’s holiday” with an evening of wonder and creativity at the Arts in the Dark Halloween Parade on October 24, 2026, in the Loop.

Recognized as one of the top six Halloween events in the world, the tenth annual Arts in the Dark parade will showcase arts organizations like the Art Institute of Chicago, Lookingglass Theatre Company and After School Matters with innovative floats, puppets and performances.
Expect to be dazzled by music, dance and creative costumes. The event highlights artistic inspiration as well as cultures and communities displaying the power of art.

The 12th annual Arts in the Dark Halloween Parade will run from 6-8 p.m. and proceed down Columbus Drive from Balbo to Jackson. The north end of the route tends to get more crowded, so come early and snag a spot on the south end.
