Office of Emergency Management & Communications (OEMC) – Alerts from NotifyChicago
Notify Chicago is a city service that provides residents with text messages, and/or e-mail alerts on various emergency and non-emergency situations taking place throughout Chicago.
Prior to coronavirus the only texts I received were about heavy traffic related to Sox and Cubs games. Maybe a severe weather alerts. Those were just regular texts. Amber Alerts texts are accompanied by a heart stopping repeating blast of the emergency alert signal. Currently any coronavirus alerts also come with the emergency alert signal.
