Celebrate the art, food and crafts of South Asia at Mela, a free event on July 14, 2024, at the Chicago Women’s Park & Garden in the Prarie Avenue Historic District.
Hosted by the Kalapriya Center for the Indian Performing Arts, Mela supplies an exciting chance to connect with traditions like Indian classical dance, Hindi music, artisan crafts and tasty dishes like butter chicken and biryani.
Vendors will offer handcrafted goods for sale and a line-up of dance troupes and musicians will perform throughout the day. The festival runs from 2- 8 pm at the Chicago Women’s Park & Garden, 1801 S. Indiana.
The event is free but a $5 donation is encouraged and registration is required here.
