Chicago’s largest indoor light experience is a family fun tradition. Light Up The Lake returns to Navy Pier from November 24 to December 31, 2023, for lots of interactive activities.
Dive into twinkling holiday magic with Light Up The Lakes light displays, games, visits with Santa and more. This year, a new collection of activities have been added to the experience.
Gather around firepits that are open to the public and will also have S’mores available for purchase. On weekends, holiday workshops, local artisan markets, live music, an art gallery and Saturday fireworks are part of the free activities.
Ice skating, axe throwing and rides on the heated Centennial Wheel are options for ticketed activities for purchase.
Returning Activities
Winter Wonderland Lights
A glittering spectacle of outdoor lights visible from DuSable Lake Shore Drive will turn Navy Pier into a magical winter wonderland.
Alpine Ice Rink
Guests are invited to come early, stay late and take a spin on the 165-foot Alpine ice rink. Guests can bring their own skates, but skates will be available at no extra charge, pending availability. Lockers also will be available.
Centennial Wheel
Each ticket includes a ride on Navy Pier’s iconic 200-foot Centennial Wheel, offering 360-degree views of the decorated city and frosty Lake Michigan. Guests can ride during their Light Up the Lake visit but the ticket is valid through 2023.
Light Up The Lake runs through December 31, 2023, Monday through Thursday, 3 pm-9:00 pm, Friday through Saturday 11 am- 10 pm and Sunday 11 am-7 pm. The hours for Christmas Eve are 11 am- 5 pm and it’s closed on Christmas Day. Tickets for adults are $15 during the week and $27 on weekends. Kids’ tickets are $15 during the week and $17 on weekends.
