The Holsum Bread Bakery Outlet store is a small outlet for Sara Lee baked goods – there’s no freezer of yummy frozen treats, but there are a few assorted products from other brands on the shelves.
The draw is the bread. When I went, loaves of the Sara Lee wheat bread were $1.19 for two – about 75% off the grocery store price. (The secret to buying bread from the bakery outlet is to freeze the unopened loaf until you need it, then completely thawing the unopened loaf before using.)
They also had some outrageously good packaged cookies from a Canadian brand called Dare. These were $2.99 per box, though – not exactly thrifty.
I don’t think this store is worth the trip unless you have room in your freezer and are going to be in the area. If you happen to be nearby, though, you can save some good money on a staple.
