It’s getting to be the time of year when eighth graders in Chicago get very stressed out about high school admission. The process here is horrible – HORRIBLE! – and no kid should have to go through it.
But they do, because they have to.
My kid goes to a Catholic high school, which made a lot of sense for us. Chicago parents need to know that there are scholarship funds available at area private schools. I wrote about them on my other blog, and it’s one of the most popular posts there. If you are interested, or if you know a kid who can benefit from the information, please go and read it.
And yes, we can debate how the admissions process should be all night and all day, but that won’t help kids in junior high today. Given the situation we have now, families should remember that private school might be a workable, affordable option.
