Ice skating is a beloved Chicago winter tradition with rinks all over the city but one of the most scenic skating experiences is at The Peninsula Chicago’s Sky Rink, perched above the Magnificent Mile with sparkling lights and pine trees. The rink is open through February 2, 2025.
Ride up to the fourth floor of The Peninsula Chicago and you’ll be dazzled by the terrace views of iconic Chicago skyscrapers as well as a winter wonderland of twinkling snowflakes, holiday music and a chalet serving up festive cocktails, hot drinks and light bites.
Admission to the Sky rink is free but skate rental for adults is $20 and $10 for kids under 12, with the proceeds benefiting two Chicago children’s charities. The hours are 11 am-7 pm on Friday-Sunday but some weeks include Monday-Wednesday so check with the hotel at (312)337-2888 to confirm the schedule.
