Tsukimi Chicago Moon Viewing Festival

Celebrate the harvest moon during the traditional Tsukimi Moon Viewing Festival at the Garden of the Phoenix in Jackson Park, on September 29, 2023.

Sit in the beauty of the moonlight and enjoy music, tea ceremonies and poetry that honors the moon. Japanese Tsukimi festivals gather people together to bask under the moon and express gratitude for a good harvest.

This free festival runs from 9-11 p.m. in the Garden of the Phoenix, located in Jackson Park behind the Museum of Science and Industry in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Arrive early for the best views. Dogs are not allowed.
