What is Open House Chicago (OHC)
The Chicago Architecture Center’s Open House Chicago is a free public festival that offers behind-the-scenes access to more than 250 buildings across Chicago. Explore the hidden gems and architectural treasures of Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods—all for free.
- A Priority Access pass and admission to Members Only sites for two COTC: This enables you to skip the lines. The lines can be huge so this enables you to see more buildings because you can get in faster.
What do OHC volunteers do?
Volunteer Greeters are assigned to all OHC sites to welcome and count guests, answer questions and assist with crowd control and line management. Greeters typically work one 3.5 to 5.5-hour shift, which leaves plenty of time to explore the city the remainder of the weekend.
Leadership Volunteers help us keep OHC running smoothly by working a full-day shift, overseeing either a cluster of nearby sites, or one particularly busy downtown site.
Benefits for volunteering
