Volunteer with Pitch in for the Parks

Where: Various Parks around Chicago
Volunteer to Pitch in for the Parks an initiative of the Chicago Parks Foundation to clean up Chicago’s 600+ parks. You can volunteer as an individual, group or family. You can also host a Pitch In group, or schedule a Green Teams event for your corporate group. Free clean up supplies are provided. All events are family-friendly. All are welcome.
Two ways to participate – Volunteer with an existing group – Some groups start May 22
Select to join an existing group and register here to participate. Registration is required )scroll down to map) so they now how much materials to provide. Click on NOW OPEN for volunteer registration. You can view by map or by list. Select the park from the map/list, click its link view its event dates, and complete your online registration.
If your park isn’t listed check back as new parks and additional dates will be added throughout the season.

Be a host for a park
If you have a group you can adopt a park as a Pitch In “host”and commit to lead recurring clean-ups this season. Hosts lead a small volunteer groups in 1-2 hour trash pick-ups in their selected park throughout the season. You can pick a park that doesn’t already have a host and the dates beginning June 1 at the earliest.
COTC note: If you want to organize a clean up every other week or split hosting duties with another friend I’m sure that’s allowed as long as you are consistent.
You can also choose for your clean-ups to be open to the public and they will be listed with a link on the website for volunteer registration. The Chicago Parks Foundation provides complimentary supplies (trash bags, face masks, gloves, water). Register to start a group here
