Watch free filming in Downtown Chicago
While going about my business from I periodically walk past filming sites where dozens of people were watching.
Empire Filming in 42nd Ward Tuesday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 9
Twentieth Century Fox Television will be filming scenes for Empire in the 42nd Ward next week. The following intermittent street closures will be in place to allow for the filming on:
- Illinois, Clark to Dearborn, from 9am-1pm on Tuesday, October 8
- Walton, Michigan to Mies Van Der Rohe, from 9am-2pm on Wednesday, October 9
These intermittent street closures mean that traffic may be held at 3-5 minutes at a time in order to film the scenes in a safe environment.
Furthermore, in order to accommodate filming vehicles and equipment, the following areas will be posted as a No Parking/Tow Zone during the following dates and times:
Monday, October 7 from 7am-2pm on Wednesday, October 9
- West side of S. Federal Street (from Jackson to Van Buren)
Monday, October 7 from 10pm until 8pm on Tuesday, October 8
- Both sides of W. Illinois Street (from Clark to Dearborn)
- East side of N. Clark Street (from Grand to Hubbard)
- North side of W. Hubbard Street (from Clark to Dearborn)
- Both sides of N. Dearborn Street (from Grand to Illinois)
- West side of N. Dearborn Street (from Illinois to Hubbard)
Monday, October 7 from 10pm until 11:59pm on Tuesday, October 8
- South side of W. Jackson Boulevard (from S. Financial Place to Clark)
- West side of S. Clark Street (from Jackson to Van Buren)
- Both sides of Van Buren Street (from LaSalle to Dearborn)
- East side of S. Federal Street (from Jackson to Van Buren)
Tuesday, October 8 from 10pm until 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 9
- Both sides of E. Lake Shore Drive (from Michigan to Lake Shore Drive)
- Both sides of Walton Place (from Michigan to Mies Van Der Rohe)
- South side of Pearson Street (from Lake Shore Drive to Dewitt)
