Where to buy masks. Since it looks like we will all be wearing masks for a long time we’re all going to need a supply of masks.
Where to buy masks – Cloth
I have not shopped any of these cloth mask makers. I found them through (Hat tip) Do312 and Time
Out In. These are all non-medical masks. They are all made in Chicago. I went through and selected the lower cost masks. Prices don’t include tax or shipping. Keep in mind elastic stretches out and there is a shortage. You may want to find masks with cloth ties. Masks are to be worn once and then cleaned. If you’re interested in paper masks I found one supplier that I purchased from see below. Good luck!
I purchased the multiclava below from Eddie Bauer but it crushes my nose and I can’t imagine walking around in it in July. It can be thrown in the wash so that’s nice. Someone sent me a very nice and well made cloth mask with cloth ties but it’s going to have to be hand washed. I can’t be bothered with that. So I started shopping online for disposable paper masks. If you’ve looked they’re very hard to come by and there is price gouging going on. I was shopping for weeks.
Where to buy paper masks – Joola Medical Non-medical masks 10% off through May 18 use code SAVE10
I ended up buying a 1 year supply 400 masks for $209 (tax included and free shipping) from Joola Medical. Now they are $239 (tax included and free shipping). Joola is actually a manufacturer of table tennis equipment but has shifted to making masks. They took forever to arrive. They shipped a box of 50 first and then the other 350. They are high quality and even at $239 per 400 are 60 cents each which is cheaper than anything I could find in-stock. Keep in mind that paper masks should really only cost about 10 cents each! Ugh. I’ve had been looking daily for weeks from reputable companies but they’re never in stock. A friend bought some from a 3rd party seller through Amazon that turned out to be a scam and never received them.
Here are the details
The JOOLA face mask utilizes a 3-ply design, which includes a layer of medical-grade Polypropylene material, to create a proven 95% Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) for reduced exposure to germs, dust, and pollution. They are proven to meet American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Level 1 standards.
- 3-Ply Non-Woven Material: The outer layer provides protection and breathability while the non-abrasive inner layer ensures the mask is comfortable to wear. The crucial middle layer is made of medical-grade Polypropylene spun-bond non-woven fabric. This meltblown Polypropylene acts as a bacterial filter for non-oily airborne particles in the air, and absorbs hot air exhaled from the body. The mask provides protection against fine dust and visible particles such as droplets.
- Adjustable Nosepiece: The JOOLA face mask features an adjustable nosepiece on the top part of the mask. This system allows for easy-breathing and an accurate fit.
- Use: The JOOLA face mask meets ASTM guidelines for use during medical procedures that involve low amounts of fluid and aerosol exposure. The mask should be worn in conjunction with social distancing practices.
- Comfortable Design: The blue-colored one size fits all masks are lightweight and feature convenient elastic earloops.
