Where to dine near the Auditorium Theatre. Going to the theater can be expensive and if you want to make an afternoon or evening out of it dining adds to the cost. Following are reasonably priced restaurants and Happy Hours. Always check the website or call for hours before heading over. This area has a lot of reasonably priced very casual options because of all the college students living in the area.

Aurelio’s, 1212 S Michigan Ave, (312) 374-4459. Really good non-Chicago style pizza.

Cafecito, 26 E Congress Pkwy (312) 922-2233. Cuban coffee and pressed sandwiches.

Exchequer, 226 S Wabash Ave, (312) 939-5633. Good pub food and pizza.

Mercat a La Planxa, 638 South Michigan Avenue, (312) 765-0524. Tapas, excellent, pricey but worth the splurge.

Miller’s Pub, 134 S Wabash Ave (312) 263-4988. An institution with good pub food. No happy hour.

Lockwood, Palmer House, 17 E Monroe St, (312) 917-3404. Expensive but a beautiful place to have a cocktail.

Plymouth Restaurant, 327 S Plymouth Ct, 4th floor (312) 362-1212. The roof is retractable so it’s open year round. Nice view of the Harold Washington Library Center. Has indoor area also.

Tesori, 65 E. Adams, (312) 786-9911. Excellent pizza and reasonably priced wine. Good happy hour.
