Italian Beef, White Table Cloth Dining & Other Culinary Delights: A Walk Down Taylor Street.
Taylor Street is a a popular food destination for locals and tourists who would walk down the street to pick a number of unique grocery items or maybe just a slice of pizza. This tour will take visitors through the history of a few of these culinary destinations, including Al’s #1 Italian Beef, Mario’s Lemonade and Pompeii. We’ll also get to talk about some of the hidden gems in the community and hopefully have time for a few samples.
Chicago historian and urbanologist Max Grinnell will lead this tour. Walking tours are rain or shine and meet in the lobby of the library building.
