Where: Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S Michigan Ave., 312-443-3600. Outdoor ceremony on the Michigan Avenue steps followed by indoor activities at Ryan Educational Center.
Schedule
Watch the lions receive their annual holiday evergreen wreaths at the Michigan Avenue entrance as you warm up with complimentary hot chocolate and a free performance. Beginning in 2018 the lions were “unveiled” rather than having the wreathes placed on at the ceremony. Apparently someone fell off a ladder in 2017.
10AM The Lions are located at the Michigan Avenue entrance.
10:30AM Free Kids activities: Ryan Education Center

Enjoy a special performance from mariachi-style band Cielito Lindo and complimentary hot chocolate while you welcome the holiday season.
Kid’s Activities
At 10:30 a.m families are invited to stop by the Ryan Education Center to create holiday wreaths inspired by the Art Institute collection.
To enter the Ryan Education Center, without paying admission, you must enter through the Modern Wing entrance at 159 East Monroe Street. You will NOT have access to any area of the Museum except the Ryan Education Center without paying admission.
