Want to see who’s new and what’s happening in improv? Looking for a cheap night out seeing the performing art most associated with Chicago? The Playground Theater in Lakeview is a cooperative theatre that hosts improv every night of the week. Some shows are experimental, others traditional, and sometimes, there are even shows for children. Performances on Monday through Saturday are usually at 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm and range from $5.00 to $10.00 (cash only). On Sunday, shows are at 7:30 pm and admission is free.
In addition to free and cheap admission, The Playground is BYOB – and your own glasses, too. This makes it a much less expensive option than many other clubs.
And, because The Playground does not serve alcohol, it is a good place for high school and college dates.
