Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month along with Latino theater and dramatic creativity at the ninth annual Destinos: Chicago International Latino Theater Festival for three weeks from September 14 to October 11, 2026, at theaters across the city.

The Chicago Latino Theater Alliance presents this anticipated annual event that features a wide range of Latino performing arts entertainment. Productions include “Ellas y Yo: Mexicanas,” a dance theater triptych by Silvita Diaz Brown, “El Juicio de Doretea,” a musical drama set in the 1940s that tackles domestic abuse, by Teatro Inovarte and “Matadora” by Insekta, a choreographic work that examines what rage looks like in the body.
Destinos will also host several world premieres, including “Dead Girl’s Quinceañera,” a high-spirited detective comedy-drama that highlights the power of adolescent friendships and the pressures of Latine girlhood presented by Barrington Stage Company and Hartford Stage.
