Chicago’s Christkindlmarket Daley Plaza. Inspired by the Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg, Germany, Christkindlmarket is Chicago’s largest open-air market. It’s a German and European holiday market and Christmas festival featuring European arts and crafts, homemade gifts, choirs, carolers and German food and beer. Admission to the market is free.
When: November 16-December 24, 2018. Hours: Sun-Thur 11am-8pm, Fri-Sat 11am – 9pm. Special Hours: Thanksgiving Day Nov. 23rd 11am – 4 pm and Christmas Eve Dec. 24th 11am – 4 pm.

Experience the typical celebration of St. Martin’s Day in Germany! The tradition of St. Martin is celebrated by German school children in honor of good Samaritans. Children and families are invited to parade around the market plaza while singing German and American Christmas carols.
