Celebrate National Poetry Month with a free showcase of noted poets, including Chicago’s first Poet Laureate Avery R Young, at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Art & Culture on April 25, 2024.
“Pri-Ma-Ve-Ra” will spotlight the dazzling wordplay of some of the most influential poets in Chicago as well as feature an open mic for audience members to participate.
Poet Eduardo Arocho will host the event and other guest poets include Mayda Del Valle, who was featured in Def Poetry Jam, Flaco Navaja, who also appeared in Def Poetry Jam and Yolanda Nieves, author of Dove Over Clouds.
The showcase runs from 5:30-7:30 pm Tickets are free but reservations are encouraged here.
