Explore the natural beauty of the winter season during the annual Polar Adventure Days on January 20, and February 17, 2024. Bundle up and enjoy chilly fun on the 300 acres of Big Marsh Park in the South Deering neighborhood.
Connect with nature during a day of winter adventures from noon to 3 pm. Activities include viewing Huskie dog sledding, making winter-inspired crafts, listening to stories around a bonfire with beloved storyteller Mama Ede, touring the natural preserve, watching roaming puppet shows and trekking through guided bird hikes.
Big Marsh Park is the Chicago Park District’s largest site, the park boasts an environmental center, an extensive off-road bike park with bike tracks and jumps, birding and hiking trails, nature areas for birdwatching, commissioned art and a bike shop.
